A crown is a tooth shaped "cap" that is placed over the tooth. Crowns restore the tooth shape, size, strength and appearance. Crowns can be made of all gold or porcelain fused to metal.

Purpose of a crown:

To protect a weak or cracked tooth.

To restore a broken or worn tooth.

To support a tooth with a large filling when their isn't much tooth structure left.
