Dental bridges literally bridge the gap created by one or more misssing teeth. A bridge is made up of two crowns for the teeth on both sides of the gap. These two anchoring teeth are called abutment teeth and the false teeth/tooth in between are called pontics. These can be made up of gold, porcelain or a combination of both. Bridges can be supported by natural teeth or implants.
